I hope you enjoy my ramblings and reminiscences from a life lived passionately on the Appalachian and Pacific Crest Trails and in the world at large.
"May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds."
Edward Abbey
This iconic tree sits near the border of Georgia and North Carolina.
The rhododendron thickets along the trail in North Carolina are so thick that bushwacking would be nearly impossible.
As I walked through North Carolina, I couldn’t help noticing that springtime was on its way. Each day seemed just a bit greener than the one before it.
The Southern Appalachians are spectacular in all their rugged, not-smoothed-by-glaciers beauty.
Thanks! These days, I’m so used to seeing the views from atop New England mountains that I really appreciated finding that one when looking back through my thru-hike photographs.
Beautiful pictures! I absolutely love the last one.
