I hope you enjoy my ramblings and reminiscences from a life lived passionately on the Appalachian and Pacific Crest Trails and in the world at large.
"May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds."
Edward Abbey
Scott, that’s a great question that, unfortunately, others are so much better able to answer than I am. I haven’t hiked Shenandoah outside of my thru-hike, so I know very little about day hikes in the park. However, I will say that Little Stony Man Cliffs was my favorite spot in the park, so a day hike that takes you there would be lovely. Good luck!
Never been, thanks for sharing!

I’m going hiking in Shenandoah in April. What would you recommend in the 5-6 mile/1,000′ of elevation gained range?
