Colorado Trail

Mile for mile, the Colorado Trail may be the greatest of the National Scenic Trails. I had the privilege of hiking from Denver to Durango in the late summer of 2017.

  • A two-dimensional felted wool landscape of a railroad near mountains.
  • A two-dimensional felted wool landscape of a trail leading down to a valley with a lake.
  • A hiker smiles at the Continental Divide, with a panoramic mountain view in the background.
  • A hiker takes a selfie at a sign marking the high point of the Colorado Trail.
  • An overlook with treed valleys and rocky mountains, with two feet in running shoes in the foreground.
  • A backpack rests on the trail near Kenosha Pass.
