The northernmost section of the Pacific Crest Trail is a veritable highlight reel of backcountry vistas. Just beyond the 2500-mile mark, hikers walk a ridgeline from White Pass to Red Pass, with mountain views in all directions and blooming wildflowers in the abbreviated, high-elevation summer. In “White Pass Lupines” (46″x21″, 2023), I interpreted this remarkable section of trail, from the purple blossoms to the crown of Glacier Peak.
